They also have quality tea and souvenirs which make it a one-stop-shop for anyone on a schedule in Galle. Their main boutique is located in lovely Dutch hospital but they also have 2 more in Fort.
They have traditional Sri Lankan designs but a large part of their jewellery is modern and sophisticated. The prices range from the typical little piece of earrings to bring back home to your colleagues to the several-thousand-dollar engagement ring. They have a very large selection of ready made items, but should you fall in love with a stone, you can make you own design and have it executed within a few days at a very reasonable price.
Both the shop owner, Yameen, and his manager are fully reliable, honest and very nice. Always very knowledgeable, of good advice and ready to go the extra mile to help. I got my last purchase efficiently delivered in the middle of nowhere in Sri Lanka, all thanks to Yameen.
I am very happy with everything I bought there and can't wait to return. In the meantime I recommend 100%

  Unique jewelry and exceptional service - I wandered into Orchid House completely by chance and am so glad I did. I found a wide selection of silver jewelry and gemstones including unique and original pieces... read more which really caught my eye. Mr. Malik was so attentive but non-aggressive in his approach and helped me find things particularly suited to my taste. He even let me try on his own ring which he had designed for himself. The ring looked fabulous on, and they agreed to make one for me. Not even 24 hours later, Mr. Yameen, the owner, hand-delivered my new ring, made exactly to my specifications, to my hotel. I'm so grateful for the service and care I received at Orchid House, and if I ever have the good fortune to return to Sri Lanka, I will definitely visit Orchid House again!

Seriously, those suckers get you when you least expect it! The aloe vera lotion from Orchid House really does the trick.
The store is huge with a great selection of low-high end items of excellent quality. The hand-painted bags were a huge hit at home! Stop in as you wander around the area as it's well worth your time; the staff is nice and very attentive!
